The Company also took up Turnkey packages like Wire Rod Mill and Bhilai Steel Plant, Augmentation of Iron Ore Processing Plant at Bolani for Durgapur Steel Plant Modernization etc.With the progressive tapering of jobs in the Public Sector Integrated Steel Plants, the Company diversified its activities in other sectors like Heavy Industrial Projects, Power, Coal, Mining, Oil & Refineries, Dry Dock, Dams/Bridges/Barrages and also Infrastructural Projects such as Railways, Airports Townships & Buildings, Bridges etc.HSCL also developed expertise in constructing High Rise Structures.Starting with the construction of Food Grain Silos, the Company took up construction of Chimneys, both RCC as well as Steel of varying heights ranging from 60 M to 275 M earning the credit of constructing the highest multi-flue Chimney in Asia at Farakka (West Bengal) and at Chandrapur (Maharashtra).

Making a humble beginning with a paltry turnover of Rs. 4 crores in 1965, HSCL has executed construction orders worth Rs. 7000 crores till November 2005. The Company’s turnover now is over Rs. 320 crore with the peak achievement of Rs. 415 crores in the year 1996-97. The Company holds a fleet of construction Plant and Equipment and a dedicated band of skilled and technical manpower.
